VisionID’s “Jingle your Jumpers” day for Down Syndrome Tipperary
On the 17th of December VisionID participated in the "Jingle your Jumpers" day for Down Syndrome Tipperary. On the day we wore our best Christmas jumpers for the cause and had our own Christmas day for those in the office, including a virtual element for those working from home.
Down Syndrome Tipperary is made up of parents and family members working together to ensure all members with Down syndrome can reach their full potential. Geographically covering north and south Tipperary.
Down Syndrome Tipperary’s mission is: "To provide support and information to individuals, families and professionals involved in the lives of our members with Down Syndrome in the Tipperary area. This will be done through therapies, programmes and activities which enhance their educational, personal and social development enabling them to reach their full potential”
The “Jingle Your Jumpers” day enables the branch to raise vital funds to support their community. The branch used the incentive to fundraise for a volunteer led project that will see the complete refurbishment of Down Syndrome Tipperary's premises in Abbey Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Upon completion the facility will be fit for purpose and will propel the organisation allowing it to provide and expand the therapies and activities that are required for people with down syndrome to grow, thrive and reach their full potential.
VisionID raised a total of €760 for the Tipperary Down Syndrome Branch and had a great time doing so! A big well done to the team for all of their efforts and a big thanks to Alison Kinahan and Robert Jones for organising the day.
Over the course of 2021, VisionID were delighted to take part in a number charity fundraisers such as 100km in 30 days for Breast Cancer Ireland, Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning Social for Hospice, The Grant Thornton 5k for The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and the Jingle Your Jumpers day for Down Syndrome Tipperary and many more worthy causes.
VisionID also made a direct donation of over €10,000 to the CBS High School in Clonmel to fund new laptops for the school. A total of €24,679 was raised and donated over the course of the year by VisionID for various charities and local causes. We look forward to joining and hosting more incentives in 2022.
